Why Harlequin?

from Sally Lyndsell:

"I first became aware of Harlequin whilst browsing through a stallion folder at CHAPS Champs, back in 2000, I then made it a mission to find a suitable wife for him! In 2001, the evergreen Ninfield Dawn Chorus, after having 5 years off from breeding, was given to me, and took first time to Harlequin by natural covering. The following year Hopgarden Lilibet was born, a Riding Pony filly whom I adored, so the mare was AI'd back, again took first time, the result of this being Hopgarden Mr Tarquin (2003) a strapping Hunter Pony colt. This was to be the last of this mating as Dawn was no longer suitable to breed from for health reasons. So my 12.2hh Showpony mare, Harvens Ciboulette was AI'd, catching first time, the result was Hopgarden Rock Harlequin (2004), a Riding Pony colt, and the repeat mating then produced in 2005 the colt Hopgarden Hidalgo. Harvens Ciboulette is again in foal to Harlequin.
The reason I keep coming back? I adore Harlequin, he has such presence, breathtaking movement and a second to none temperament, all of which he passes onto his foals. He is also an improver stallion, and with his outstanding pedigree, makes him an ideal choice for me to breed Riding Ponies.
Also with my Harlequin babies, I have been privileged to win at The Royal, Ponies UK (summer and winter), CHAPS Champs, Royal London, Orsett County, Kent County, BSPA, NPS, and the Amateur Champs.
I am proud of my babies, and thank Cindy for all the help she has given me over the years - be it advice, or a Semen collection within a couple of hours notice!
I have always been made to feel very welcome at Harroway House and have had fun every time I have visited!! Thank you Cindy xxx"
